Our story, our roots
The National Alliance of Peasants is established in Rome.
During the First Congress of the Alliance, the “Statute of the enterprise and of the peasant property” was approved for the recognition of the property and of the peasant enterprise, single and associated, as the foundation of the renewed and modern Italian agriculture.
The CIPA (Centro Istruzione Professionale Agricola – Centre for Professional Agricultural Education) is established on the initiative of the Alleanza Nazionale dei Contadini (National Alliance of Peasants).
The Alliance becomes the Confederazione Italiana Coltivatori (CIC – Italian Confederation of Growers).
CIC becomes the Italian Confederation of Farmers (CIA – Italian Confederation of Farmers)
The training institution changes its name to CIPAAT (Centre for Agricultural Vocational Education and Technical Assistance).
Once the technical assistance and consulting activities have been widened, in addition to training, CIPAAT changes in “AGRICOLTURA E’ VITA” (AGRICULTURE IS LIFE) Association. Agricoltura è Vita is based in Rome and has its associated structures throughout the country. The general aims of Agricoltura è Vita are training, guidance and specialized advice to its associated structures to promote the economic and social development of farmers, operators of food supply chains and citizens, especially if they live in rural areas.
CIA joins the international Agricord network as an associate.
The Association Agricoltura è Vita joins Agricord as an official member during the General Assembly in Stockholm.
Original documents and prints on the events mentioned are available in the Historical Archive and Library of CIA.
